The L.A.D.D.E.R. program is a 1 day/1 night training program that focuses on leadership, encouraging teamwork, building confidence and courage for young ladies enrolled in high school (9th-12th grades) in local school districts of Dallas, Texas. The training curriculum includes first aid and CPR certification. A full day of interactive training exercises focusing on skills associated with fire engine familiarization and USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) strategies such as repelling and aerial climb are also conducted. The Fire Prevention and Investigation Bureau provides fire extinguisher training, fire prevention education and techniques for fire investigation. The program is concluded with an award presentation during a graduation ceremony for the participants and their families.
