CHIEF TAMEJI R. BERRY

Ladies Achieving Dreams with Dedication, Enthusiasm, and Respect was established September 1, 2015 by president and founder Tameji R. Berry, Assistant Fire Chief, Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) Department, Fire Prevention and Investigation Bureau. Beginning her career with DFR in March 2000 as a Fire Prevention Officer, Chief Berry promoted to Senior Fire Prevention Officer within the first 3 years of her career and continued promoting through the ranks to Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief, and Assistant Fire Chief.  Chief Berry was appointed by David E. Coatney, Fire Chief, Dallas Fire-Rescue Department on June 1, 2017 becoming the first African American female to be appointed to the position of Assistant Fire Chief. Chief Berry was also the first female Deputy Chief to be assigned to the Fire Investigation Division and is currently the highest ranking female in the fire department.
